Marek Wróbel

Marek Wróbel is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Optiveum, a boutique IT and engineering outsourcing consultancy that connects companies in Scandinavia, Western Europe, and the US with experienced remote software engineers from Central Europe.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience, Marek has led recruitment and outsourcing operations across Poland and the wider CEE region. Before founding Optiveum in 2020, he held senior leadership roles at three of the world's largest staffing firms — Randstad, Hays, and ManpowerGroup. He spent 7 years at Hays building its temporary staffing and interim management business in Poland, then expanded it into Czechia and Hungary while managing a team of more than 50 consultants. He later joined ManpowerGroup Poland as Commercial Director and a member of the Senior Executive Team, where he oversaw the company's Recruitment Process Outsourcing and Managed Service Provider divisions.

His writing centres on the practical side of international IT hiring: how to build and scale engineering teams across borders, what to look for in a nearshore partner, and the strategic choices that decide whether a tech expansion takes off or stalls.

Outside of work, Marek is a keen traveller who has visited over 60 countries and is a linguist. He speaks six languages and is learning more. He also shares his passion for travel as an advisor on Fora Travel.
